Yeah cool — people like that should go to the office! No one is saying you should be forced to stay at home (or anywhere else) by your company. You’re a grown-up who knows where you work best and should be trusted to make that decision.

I lead a very different life than some working women. I’ve chosen not to have any children, and I’ve also chosen to let my southern aunties and nosy neighbors know that they can bite my ass if they feel the need to comment on my housework. Most of them don’t even know where I live, by design. I go visit them when I get the time and social energy to drive two hours and be polite.

These are my choices.

I understand what you’re saying, but at the end of the day, you’re just describing a set of choices and circumstances that makes it harder for you to work at home. Cool — you should head back to the office then! But the rest of us who chose differently definitely shouldn’t be forced to come with you.
